Job Overview:
We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced Building Technician to join our team. The Building Technician will be responsible for the overall maintenance and upkeep of our facilities in Potomac, Maryland. The ideal candidate should have a thorough understanding of safety practices, building systems, and general maintenance procedures along with a strong mechanical background and be proficient in customer service. Responsibilities:

• Implement preventive maintenance programs for facilities and equipment.
• Conduct regular inspections of facilities to identify potential hazards and ensure compliance with local and federal regulations.
• Assist maintenance team with setups for events.
• Oversee the facilities during private event to unsure safety and compliance.
• Maintain accurate records of maintenance and repair activities.
• Respond to emergency maintenance requests and assess the building for potential safety hazard.
• Perform minor repairs using manual and power tools.
• Setup and operate AV equipment.
• Drive the Organization’s vehicle for work related purposes.

Requirements:

• 5 years of experience in facilities management or a related field.
• Strong understanding of mechanical, electrical, and plumbing systems
• Certifications related to building management.
• Ability to read and interpret technical drawings and specifications.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
• Familiarity with local and federal regulations related to facilities management.
• Strong computer skills and knowledge of Building Automation Systems (BAS)
• Availability to work some weekends and late nights.
• Valid driver’s license.
• Clean criminal record. Verification by WHC is required.
